Legal names must be submitted at the time of booking. Please remember that all travel documents must be issued under the same name as stated on your passport or government-issued ID.

You must travel with ONE of the following identifications:
  • Passport VALID for at least 6 months beyond the completion date of travel
  • Original, notarized government-issued birth certificate with raised seal OR naturalization certificate and a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license)
  • State-issued enhanced driver’s license (EDLS) and a certified copy of birth certificate
  • Children under the age of 16 must travel with a notarized government-issued birth certificate with raised seal or a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion date of travel
Note: If travel plans require international air travel to or from the U.S. & Canada, a valid passport will be required to board the flight, regardless of age or citizenship. Having a passport enables you to fly from a foreign port in the event you miss your scheduled embarkation or if you need to disembark the ship mid-cruise due to an emergency. Travelers who do not possess the proper documentation can be denied boarding ship or entering a country and may be subject to fines. No refunds will be given to travelers that fail to bring proper documentation. Please check the cruise line’s website for more information.

REAL ID
Beginning May 7, 2025, every U.S. state and territory resident will need to present a REAL ID compliant license/ID, or another acceptable form of identification, to board commercial aircraft. The card itself must be REAL ID
compliant unless the resident is using an alternative acceptable document such as a passport or state-issued Enhanced Driver’s License.

Note:
  • Enhanced Driver’s Licenses (EDL) issued by Washington, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Vermont are considered acceptable alternatives to REAL ID – compliant cards and will also be accepted for official REAL ID purposes.
  • TSA does not require children under 18 to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States. The companion will need acceptable identification.
  • At this time a REAL ID compliant license/ID is NOT required to board cruise ships. As always Cruise Dreams recommends that all cruise travelers travel with a valid passport book, in case of unexpected need to fly home from a non-U.S. port.
